庄子和惠子还在争辩着，远处走来了两人。

一人着粗布短袍，看似农人。另一人身穿白袍，手中提着几株药草。只听，白袍人嘴角带笑道：“此处山清水秀，绿草如茵，又逢艳阳高照，好一个世外桃源。却不知二位道友在争辩什么，竟如此激烈？”

庄子暂停与惠子争辩，向那人鞠了一躬，回应道：“道友有所不知，我看这池中鱼游得欢快，认为它很快乐，而惠子却不赞同。”

“呵，原来如此！”那人又笑道，“我是个医生，也曾救治过一些动物。我从未看见过它们脸上有表情，它们也只是为了生活而动。我倒也不赞同。鱼是没有情感的，他们动，也许作文是为了寻找食物吧。”

惠子叫了一声好，一脸得意地看着庄子。

这时，穿粗布衣的人开口了：“真的是这样吗？我养了些家禽，你刚刚有一点说对了，它们的确没有表情，但不代表它们没有情感呀。比如牛，它烦躁时会甩蹄子甩尾巴，再比如猫，要攻击时会全身趴下，毛发直立。它们不会控制面部表情，但可以用肢体语言来表达。依我看，这河中之鱼，动作是那样轻快，还在不停地吐泡、腾跃，肯定是快乐的。”

庄子听罢，大笑一声道：“各人各看，不能强求。今日相谈甚欢，我等不如在此歇脚，一起赏鱼，岂不快哉！”
