开平碉楼，坐落在开平自力村里，是中国乡土建筑的一个特殊类型。是集防卫、居住和中西建筑艺术于一体的多层塔楼式建筑。它的特点是中西合璧的民居，有古希腊、古罗马、伊斯兰等等风格。感觉就像到了外国看房子一样呢。

我们走进其中一栋碉楼里，首先看见的是一张木质桌子和几张椅子，桌子上摆着小盘子。同层房子里还有几间小房间：一个廊，就是我们现在说的厨房；一个主卧，一般是给主人睡的，所以床会大一点；还有一个佣人房，房间和床都小一点。一栋碉楼会有四到五层，一般最高层是天台，而二到四层的设计跟一层差不多，只会多几个浴室和娱乐室而已。不过这个浴室只能泡澡，不能上厕所。娱乐室里有鸟笼和扑克牌。我觉得应该是主人在空闲时间放松的吧。
